Wojciech Marciniak holder of the National Agency for Academic Exchange scholarship

The results of the Bekker Program have been announced. Out of 355 applicants, 77 scholarship holders will receive funding. One of the scholarship holders is the representative of the Poznan University of Technology - Wojciech Marciniak, M.Sc, pursuing doctoral studies at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics.

 Projects under the Bekker Program will be implemented in 18 countries. The most popular host countries are the UNITED STATES (17 scholarships), GREAT BRITAIN (12 scholarships), GERMANY (8 scholarships), SPAIN (7 scholarships) and AUSTRALIA (6 scholarships).

The aim of the Program is to support the international mobility of doctoral students, scientists and academics in their pursuit of scientific excellence by enabling them to develop scientifically in foreign research and academic centres around the world.

 Wojciech Marciniak’s project is entitled "Theoretical research on the role of phonons in ultrafast demagnetization". It will be carried out for 12 months at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Uppsala, under the supervision of a world-class expert in the theory of transmission electron microscopy, prof. Jan Rusz.
