OPENING OF THE CENTRE FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND CYBERSECURITY

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity was officially opened in Aula Magna.

After the speech of prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Robert Wrembel, director of the Centre presented the newly established unit.

Inspiring lectures brought us closer to the problems faced by modern society.

  • Prof. Roman Słowiński - Poznan University of Technology
    "Artificial intelligence as a factor in the development of technology and scientific research"
  • Piotr Beńke - CTO & Technical Sales Director IBM Poland, Baltics &Ukraine
    "Quantum computers - technology of the near future, for which it is time to prepare"
  • Artur Czerwiński - technical director of Cisco Poland
    "Cybersecurity Challenges in Poland".

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity responds to transforming social and technological needs. From the organisational perspective, the Centre provides the basis for creating a unique network of cooperation among universities, scientific institutions, as well as the socio-economic sectors.

The task of the Centre will be to integrate the scientific and economic environment and to build infrastructure, as well as potential in terms of competitiveness of all institutions implementing projects related to artificial intelligence and/or cybersecurity.

The establishment of the centre is also an opportunity to:

  • increase in the competitiveness of Polish science on the international arena,
  • increase in the competitiveness of the economic sector,
  • staff development and popularization of artificial intelligence and digital security techniques.

The establishment of this initiative in the capital of the Wielkopolska region is particularly important, where high-tech projects are carried out by leading Polish universities and R&D institutes operating within the network of European universities. A number of leading international and domestic companies from the advanced IT technology sector also operate in Poznan.
